As a registered Indian Patent Agent and advocate with the Bar Council of India, she has worked with top multinationals including Infosys, Mercedes Benz, ABB India, and Samsung India. Her expertise encompasses patent and trademark processes, IP risk management, technology transfer, and licensing. At Lance IP, she founded a training cell to mentor emerging IP professionals and advance intellectual property protection and commercialization.

Kalpana is a Techno-Legal Attorney with over 12 years of experience integrating legal and technical expertise. She provides strategic counsel to businesses and startups on regulatory compliance, risk management, and innovation. Having worked with four of India’s largest companies, she founded Umbrella Legal in 2022. With a background in engineering and law, Kalpana is a registered lawyer with the Bar Council of India and a patent agent. She specializes in Intellectual Property Law, Contract Law, and Media and Entertainment Law. Additionally, she is President of the Maharashtra Startup Ecosystem and Incubation Council and is known for her dedicated training of young legal and tech professionals at Lance IP.
